Mission Statement

Our Mission

Fire Departments don't just put out fires anymore.  Our role in the community has expanded greatly over the years.

Think about it --

  • When a child is lost, we're there to aid in the search.
  • When dangerous chemicals are released, we're there to evacuate those who are threatened and clean up the mess.
  • When a loved one has a heart attack, we're there with with the defibrillator, oxygen mask, and medically trained "firefighters" to keep that person going until the ambulance arrives.
  • When a car crash traps a family in a tangled web of steel, we're the folks who show up with the "Jaws of Life" to get them out safely.
  • We're the people who teach your children about fire safety and when and how to call 9-1-1.
  • We'll gladly show up at 3 AM to check your beeping smoke or carbon monoxide detector, just to make sure you're family is safe.
  • When severe weather threatens, we're up at all hours, scanning the skies, ready to sound the early warning.
  • When a storm damages your home, we're the folks who help you dig out and loan you the portable generator to keep the lights on and the refrigerator running until power is restored.

Our mission isn't just to put out fires.  Our mission is to provide comprehensive Life Safety and Emergency Management services to our community whenever and wherever life or property is threatened.
